Childrens Storefront

The Children’s Storefront is a Toronto not-for-profit organization that has welcomed and supported local families since 1975. As Ontario’s first child-parent centre, it has helped shape the free family programs available today. Its welcoming community brings together parents, grandparents, caregivers and young children to build friendships, find support, and learn and grow together.

The organization offers free programming for families with young children, including drop-in activities and scheduled events, with indoor and outdoor options. Some story times and activities are also shared virtually through social media. Families can consult the monthly calendar and register for individual events. The Storefront’s Community Kitchen serves wholesome, low-cost lunches, and the organization also hosts potluck brunches, fundraising dinners, cooking bees and cooking-skills workshops.

Supported by a small staff, a volunteer board and community contributions, The Children’s Storefront welcomes volunteers and donations to sustain its work. Based at 826 Bloor Street West in Toronto, it provides an accessible place for families to connect and participate without a programming fee.
