Child Rescue Stiftung

Child Rescue Stiftung is a charitable organisation working to reduce child mortality and improve the health of children and mothers in Kiambiu, a low-income community in eastern Nairobi, Kenya. Since launching its project in 2007, the foundation has provided thousands of emergency and support interventions for local families. Its Nairobi-based team, including social workers and a community nurse, visits households with children and pregnant women to identify illness, malnutrition, urgent health needs and vaccination gaps.

When a child needs immediate care, Child Rescue arranges transport to a clinic, accompanies the mother and child, and helps fund diagnosis, treatment and prescribed medicines. The team follows up with children until they recover. The foundation also runs health education sessions for mothers and pregnant women, covering nutrition, hygiene, family planning and first aid. These activities promote practical prevention and peer support. Child Rescue works alongside local authorities and other community organisations, focusing on essential assistance not otherwise available.
