Chip-in Farm is a renowned brand that traces its roots back to an immigrant's dream in 1924. Hendrick Couvee arrived in the United States from Holland with a vision. He met Thelma while working at a farm in Weston and together they weathered the hardships of the Great Depression, with Hendrick supporting his family as a dedicated milkman.

In the midst of World War II, Thelma contributed to the war effort, while Hendrick sold eggs from the victory flock of 35 chickens he had purchased. In 1944, the family pooled their resources and purchased their own farm in Bedford. Over the next 35 years, Thelma managed the farm and growing flock of hens while Hendrick and their son Herbert delivered eggs to suburban Boston families.

Today, the farm is thriving under the guidance of the 4th generation. The Chip-in Farm retail store emerged in the 1980s when Neil and Paul Couvee took over. Alongside their fresh eggs, the store offers sustainably raised produce, local products, and seasonal and personal care items.
