Chiselhurst Kindergarten is a community kindergarten in Toowoomba, Queensland, founded by Miss Anne Clark in 1940. With a history spanning six generations of families, it provides a welcoming early learning environment grounded in caring relationships, collaboration, and respect for children’s experiences. Its approach combines a spacious, natural setting with the aim of nurturing kind, confident, and independent learners.
The kindergarten accommodates up to 88 students across four Queensland Government-approved programs for children who turn four by 30 June in the year of attendance. Acacia and Banksia groups meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, and alternate Wednesdays; Casuarina and Daisy meet on alternate Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Sessions run during the day on a five-day fortnight, and eligible children can access Queensland’s Free Kindy program. Chiselhurst is affiliated with Lady Gowrie, which supports community kindergartens across Queensland.
Families can apply to join the wait list from birth, arrange a visit, and attend the kindergarten’s Open Day.
