About Champions Hockey League
The Champions Hockey League AG (CHL), founded in 2013 in Switzerland, is the premier organization governing the Champions Hockey League competition. Structured as an Aktiengesellschaft (Ltd.) under Swiss law, CHL is owned by a diverse group of stakeholders, including 26 shareholder clubs, six shareholder leagues, and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The league aims to showcase the best in European club ice hockey, focusing on the highest standards of sportsmanship and competition.
CHL features a unique qualification system for clubs, distinguishing between A-License shareholder clubs, which have established excellence, B-License clubs from shareholder leagues, and C-License Wild Card clubs that include international champions. The league fosters a competitive environment that allows top teams from various countries to play at elite levels. Its mission is to enhance European club hockey through an international representation that solidifies the sport's growth and prestige.
