About Chola Contravisual
NOSOTRES is a collective of women and gender non-conforming individuals from Quechua communities, based in Ayacucho and Huancayo, Peru. Our work focuses on creating audiovisual content, cultural management, and fostering processes of collective care and healing. We challenge structural racism and patriarchy while advocating for the concept of 'buen vivir' or good living.
Through collaboration with various networks in Peru and Latin America, we promote innovative anti-colonial art experiences rooted in community processes that evoke profound transformations, networks of affection, creativity, and collective action to support the autonomy and liberation of women and gender non-conforming individuals. Central to our approach is the Andean cosmovision, interweaving the memory of our ancestors to prioritize reimagining human relationships and our connection with nature through collective care and radical empathy.
