About Champlain Hudson Power Express
TDI CHPExpress is a brand that is poised to revolutionize New York State's power supply. As the most powerful project in the region, they are leading the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy with the Champlain Hudson Power Express® (CHPE) transmission line. This fully buried line will deliver 1,250 MW of low-cost renewable hydropower directly to the New York Metro area.
Operating under the state's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, TDI CHPExpress is committed to ensuring that 70 percent of New York's energy comes from renewable sources by 2030. With wide support from communities, labor groups, and environmental organizations, this $6 billion project will have a significant and positive impact on both the environment and the economy.
By displacing fossil fuel generation, the CHPE project will reduce carbon emissions by 3.9 million metric tons in its first year of operation. Additionally, it will save New York homes and businesses $17.3 billion over 30 years through reduced electricity costs. Moreover, the project will generate $1.4 billion in funding for municipalities and school districts.
