The Chris Ruth Centre Trust is a registered charity providing individualised, community-oriented services for adults over 18 with complex needs. Its work is guided by the Enabling Good Lives principles and a commitment to helping each person lead a good life. The centre supports individuals to take part in meaningful activities of their own choice in respectful and enjoyable settings, while recognising their strengths, preferences and potential.
Its programmes focus on creating interesting, full and meaningful lives, with activities shaped around each person and opportunities to build connections in the community. The organisation also offers support for school leavers transitioning from school to day activities, aiming to make this change easier for individuals and their families. Services are provided across locations including Ashburton, Bishopdale, Hoon Hay, Kaiapoi, Sockburn and Phillipstown.
At the heart of the Chris Ruth Centre’s mission is valuing each person’s uniqueness through enriching programmes interwoven with community connections, or whanaungatanga. The organisation shares updates about its activities and community events, and welcomes donations to support its work.
