Christel Klarhöfer

Christel Klarhöfer is a Duisburg-based artist and art educator whose work centers on expressive, abstract acrylic painting. Her approach is to create surfaces that radiate energy, using acrylic paints and pigments to explore transparency, density, fullness and emptiness. She also works with materials such as modeling paste, and welcomes experimentation with different techniques and textures. Inspired by Picasso’s willingness to follow his own artistic path, Klarhöfer encourages people to set aside creative inhibitions and discover their own ideas through art.

At her MAL | ATELIER in Duisburg-Rheinhausen, she offers workshops for beginners and more experienced painters, with individual guidance and practical tips during open painting sessions. Her subject-based seminars introduce painting fundamentals before participants put their learning into practice. She also provides ongoing instruction in private lessons and small groups, covering topics such as color theory, brushes, materials, sketching and modeling techniques. In collaboration with naturopath Cordula Stein, MentalPainting combines meditation and art.
