The Christermon Foundation is a nonprofit organization connected to California’s beverage alcohol industry. Established in 1987, it supports charitable causes and promotes educational opportunity through the Beverage Industry Scholarship Program, its primary initiative. The program offers qualified students one-time awards of $3,000 to $10,000, restricted to tuition and room and board at an accredited four-year university in the United States.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet the program’s eligibility requirements. The eligible pool includes children and grandchildren of people employed full time by a California licensee. Scholarships are offered in three categories: graduating California high school seniors entering a four-year university; California community college students transferring to a four-year institution; and post-graduate candidates employed full time by a company holding a valid California beverage license who intend to continue working in the field while pursuing an advanced degree. Students already enrolled in a four-year university are ineligible for the high school and community college categories.
