Christiania Roklub is one of Norway’s oldest rowing clubs, founded in 1878 and based in Oslo. With an inclusive community spanning a wide range of ages and abilities, the club welcomes beginners, experienced rowers, international members and students. Its active members range from age 12 to over 90, including competitive athletes as well as people who row for fitness and enjoyment.
The club offers several ways to get on the water: flat-water racing, recreational and fitness rowing, coastal rowing and indoor rowing on machines. Members can choose from different boats and crew combinations, with opportunities for both long outings on the Oslofjord and rowing in coastal conditions. Training takes place at two locations: Kongen, on Frognerstranda, which has access to the fjord as well as rowing-machine and strength-training facilities, and Bogstad, where racing takes place on Bogstadvannet.
Christiania Roklub also runs a rowing school and provides member services including equipment booking, training schedules, event information and venue hire.
