About Christine Kashuba
Christine Kashuba is an innovative artist renowned for her expertise in cyanotype creation, where she merges drawing, painting, photography, and printmaking. Since her introduction to this captivating medium in 2009, sparked by a project addressing the impact of pine beetles on the forest industry, Christine has developed a unique style characterized by striking blue and white imagery reminiscent of denim. Her artistic exploration has evolved to incorporate botanical themes, photographic transfers, and drawn imagery, bringing a diverse range of subjects to her work.
Primarily creating stunning cyanotypes on fabric, Christine also experiments with paper and other porous materials, producing pieces that vary from 8 x 10 inches to 42 x 30 inches. Her portfolio includes a rich array of motifs, from botanical and figurative to abstract landscapes. A Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from the University of British Columbia, Okanagan, Christine's work is showcased in numerous exhibitions and is part of collections worldwide, including a piece held in the UBC Okanagan permanent collection.
