Chroma Jiu Jitsu is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Lafayette, Colorado, founded by instructor Damien Cordova. The academy uses martial arts to support overall wellbeing, helping students build fitness, confidence, practical self-defense skills, and connections with a positive community. Its environment is described as inclusive, gender-affirming, anti-racist, safe, and welcoming.
Chroma offers adult and children’s Jiu Jitsu programs for a range of experience and fitness levels, from fundamentals to advanced competition training. The children’s program is organized by age: Hatchlings for ages four to six and Kaiju for ages seven to fourteen. Classes introduce martial arts while encouraging physical activity, respect, discipline, confidence, and personal growth. Students can begin with a free trial, with equipment provided and no obligation.
The academy serves Lafayette and nearby communities, including Boulder, Erie, Superior, Broomfield, and Louisville. Cordova brings experience teaching students of different ages and abilities, and his approach emphasizes mindfulness, respect, control, and responding thoughtfully under pressure.
