About Chromologics
Chromologics is a Copenhagen-based biotech company that specializes in natural food color production. Founded in 2017 by Gerit Tolborg and Anders Ødum, who met while pursuing academic careers at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Chromologics is at the forefront of innovative color solutions. Gerit's groundbreaking discovery of a unique group of fungal pigments during his PhD sparked the idea to explore commercial applications, leading to the establishment of Chromologics.
Through a €6M series seed-round of funding in 2021, Chromologics has experienced exponential growth, expanding its team and research and development facilities. What sets Chromologics apart is its proprietary fermentation process, allowing them to be pioneers in lab-grown food colorants. Their flagship product, Natu.
Red® color, is leading the way in the transition towards a more sustainable future. With a focus on the food industry, Chromologics offers a comprehensive range of colors for various applications such as bakery, dairy, plant-based food, meat, seafood, poultry, confectionery, beverages, snacks, spices, soups, sauces, and even pet food. Additionally, they also serve the textile and cosmetics industries.
Driven by their passion for creating natural and sustainable color solutions, Chromologics is dedicated to revolutionizing the way we produce and consume food
