Counter Human Trafficking Trust (CHTEA) is a sub-regional Non-State Agency dedicated to the eradication of human trafficking in East Africa. Established in 2006, CHTEA initially operated in the Mukuru slums of Nairobi, Kenya, and has since expanded to all six East African member countries. As an organization, CHTEA aims to combat the complex and growing issue of trafficking in persons through comprehensive programs and interventions.

CHTEA works in strategic partnership with others to eliminate this heinous crime and ensure justice for the millions of women, children, and men enslaved for the profit of the greedy and inhumane members of society. Their vision is a world free from the shackles of human exploitation, with every trafficker held accountable for their actions. Through enhanced coordination, research, training, and advocacy, CHTEA redefines counter-trafficking strategies and offers holistic solutions for victims.
