Chung TKD

Grand Master Chung Tae Kwon Do is a family-run, kids-only martial arts school at 1527 Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park, New York. Founded in 1984, it teaches Tae Kwon Do to children ages 2 to 13, with older students placed according to age and experience. The school offers age-based programs: Pee-Wee classes for ages 2–3, including Mommy & Me and independent classes; Children’s classes for ages 4–6; and Youth classes for ages 7–13, from beginner to advanced.

Lessons introduce age-appropriate forms, sparring, self-defense, focus, confidence, discipline and respect, with a pathway to Black Belt. Grandmaster Howard Chung, a 9th-degree black belt who has taught since 1970, personally conducts every belt test. Instructors he trained lead classes, and families are welcome to watch.

New students can book two free trial classes, with the school helping match each child to a suitable class. Chung TKD also offers birthday parties and camps; families can contact the school for dates, pricing and availability
