About CIC
The International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) is a globally recognized leader in wildlife conservation, established in 1930. With a commitment to hunter-led initiatives, the CIC plays a vital role in protecting diverse landscapes and wildlife from threats such as pollution and illegal activities. Representing a powerful network of 29 state members, over 2,000 individual members, and more than 90 partner NGOs, the CIC amplifies the voices of indigenous peoples and local communities, promoting sustainable wildlife management.
The organization is actively involved in shaping international conservation policies, recognized as a United Nations Observer with diplomatic status in Austria. It has contributed significantly to important biodiversity initiatives, including the establishment of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the development of the Global Biodiversity Framework. CICβs various programs and working groups, such as the One Health Mongolia project and the Snipe Project, showcase its dedication to applying science and enhancing nature-based leadership for a sustainable future. Through partnerships and corporate sponsorship, the CIC continues to advance its mission in over 80 countries worldwide.
