About CIFORD Kenya
CIFORD Kenya is a community-based organization with a mission to tackle socio-economic problems in Meru North District, Eastern Province, Kenya. Since its formation in July 2002, CIFORD has been registered with the Ministry of Sports, Gender, and Social Services, demonstrating its commitment to making a positive impact in the region. Recognizing the challenges faced by women and children, CIFORD's focus lies in community capacity building, sustainable agriculture, and community health programs.
With a strong emphasis on empowering girls to stay in school rather than being subjected to early marriage, CIFORD promotes new, safe, and empowering coming-of-age rituals. At the core of CIFORD's operations are their values of community involvement, integrity, accountability, professionalism, partnerships, and advocacy. Their vision is to build a self-reliant rural community that prioritizes the involvement of women and children in the development process.
