La Cinémathèque de Bretagne is dedicated to preserving and promoting the cinematic and audiovisual heritage of Brittany's five historical departments. With a collection exceeding 10,000 films accessible to the public, the institution serves as a vital cultural resource. It offers various services including film screenings, ethnographic cinema events, and specialized exhibitions that celebrate local history and significant milestones like the centenary of the sardine fishers' strike.
The Cinémathèque also provides support for film deposits, guiding filmmakers on how to archive their works and ensuring their rights are protected. Members enjoy exclusive benefits and can access a wealth of films, organize screenings, and purchase unique imagery from the collection. Regular cine-conferences and collaborative projects add depth to its offerings, engaging the community in the rich tapestry of cinema.
Through its tireless efforts, La Cinémathèque de Bretagne not only safeguards cultural treasures but also fosters a vibrant dialogue about the past, making films a collective experience for future generations.
