About CINER-Centro de Información en Energías Renovables
CINER (Centro de Información en Energías Renovables) is a Bolivian NGO that specializes in renewable energy research and gender equality. Established in 1991, CINER has been operating within the Renewable Energy Dissemination Program. With expertise provided by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), CINER was founded as an NGO in 1997 under the name Centro de Información en Energías Renovables.
CINER's mission is to promote harmonious development in our society through the energy, environment, and education sectors by providing specialized information, advisory services, and capacity building in areas such as technical development, planning, monitoring, evaluation, and integration rights. CINER strives to conserve natural resources through the rational use of energy. They provide guidance, advisory services, and promote the exchange of information, research, and technological advancements among institutions, companies, and individuals working in the energy and environmental fields.
CINER also actively supports gender equity in society. The organization has a team of experienced founders and former directors, who have worked on renewable energy diffusion programs and served as technical advisors for national and international consultants. They have expertise in organizing specialized events and conferences, such as the Regional Conference of the Global Community Energy Alliance.
CINER's work includes providing consultancy on renewable energy and environmental topics, specialized communication in the energy sector, capacity development, planning, monitoring, and evaluation. They also manage information through their library, publications, and news section. Partnering with various organizations and networks, such as AECID, the World Bank, and IRENA, CINER fosters collaboration to promote sustainability and renewable energy.
They have established linkages with academic institutions, research centers, and technology service providers. To facilitate their work, CINER offers a range of services and technologies through partnerships with entities like ENDE Corporation, FRAUNHOFER ISE, and Stove Team International.
