CIO Wiki is an online encyclopedia focused on information technology management, created for chief information officers, senior IT leaders, technology managers, and others who rely on IT to deliver business value. Sponsored by CIO Index, the CIO Portal, it offers definitions of technology and business management terms alongside broader explanations of the concepts and practices behind them. Its articles cover both the “what” of IT management and the “how to,” including processes and practical overviews.

The reference is organized around key CIO responsibilities, with chapters on business strategy, IT strategy, e-strategy, IT governance, enterprise architecture, IT sourcing, IT operations, and digital transformation. CIO Wiki reports more than 5,200 topics and is presented as a continuing work in progress, with accuracy dependent on when material was last updated. Visitors can browse an index, search for terms, or review recent changes.

Participation requires an account; updates are currently limited to CIO Index-authorized authors, though broader community collaboration is planned. Content is available under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, with possible additional terms
