The International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC), known in French as CIPC, is an international forum and resource centre focused on sharing knowledge and ideas about crime prevention and community safety. Based in Montréal, the organisation works with governments, cities, non-governmental organisations and private companies, offering expertise, technical assistance, training, evaluations and support to strengthen their capacity.
The ICPC conducts applied research and develops methods that connect international standards and key theoretical concepts with practical approaches to preventing crime and violence. It also mobilises and shares knowledge through reports, policy notes, guides, newsletters, seminars and international meetings. Its publications address emerging issues, including youth victimisation, urban violence, criminal exploitation and safety in public transport networks.
The organisation collaborates with partners such as UN-Habitat and the United Nations Development Programme, and participates in international and regional networks concerned with crime prevention and justice. With institutional and non-governmental members across continents, the ICPC serves as a platform for cooperation, learning and informed action.
