CIPS is the International Sport Fishing Confederation, a global organization established in 1952 with the aim of promoting and enhancing fishing activities from a sporting perspective. Regardless of race, social status, politics, gender, or religion, CIPS strives to provide opportunities for individuals interested in fishing to participate in its various sporting, technical, scientific, and cultural activities. CIPS is the only organization that represents the vast community of sport fishermen worldwide, with 152 National Federations from 78 countries and over 50 million members.
The headquarters of CIPS is located in Rome, Italy. CIPS operates through three international sport fishing federations and organizes prestigious events such as World championships and European Championships. Since 2000, CIPS has been organizing the Sport Fishing Games, wherein all sport fishing disciplines are showcased.
