Circular Slovakia is a brand committed to transforming Slovakia's economy into a fully circular, sustainable, and low-carbon model by 2040. Recognizing the need for a 20-year transformation, Circular Slovakia emphasizes strong political support and collaboration from industries, local governments, and other stakeholders. With the current trajectory projecting a more than 50% increase in material consumption by 2050, transitioning to a circular economy is crucial for decarbonizing the Slovakian economy and reducing negative environmental impacts.
Circular Slovakia believes that the key to achieving closed-loop material flows lies in the widespread adoption of technologies that can effectively recycle and recover resources. Currently, only 8. 3% of materials in Slovakia are being reintegrated into the economy, putting the country below the EU average.
However, driven by legislative pressure, consumer demand, and investor interest, the importance of a circular economy is growing, paving the way for a zero-waste future where the concept of waste is replaced by resource. To foster knowledge-sharing and discuss vital topics, Circular Slovakia organizes webinars featuring experts in technology, infrastructure, and waste valorization. These sessions aim to address the state of technological infrastructure in Slovakia, the investment requirements for material valorization, and showcase innovative technologies such as composting, chemical recycling, energy and biological waste valorization, and solid alternative fuel production.
The guest speakers include industry leaders and professionals from organizations like BASF Slovensko, JRK Slovensko, Brantner Fatra, Inštitút Cirkulárnej Ekonomiky, and ecorec Slovensko. By promoting these discussions, Circular Slovakia strives to accelerate the adoption of circular practices and technologies in Slovakia's economy
