Circusol

CIRCUSOL is a European innovation project focused on building circular business models for the solar power industry. Funded through the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, the project explores how service-based approaches, particularly Product-Service Systems, can deliver environmental, economic and user benefits while supporting a low-carbon energy transition. Its work addresses resource efficiency as the use of solar photovoltaic systems and electric vehicles grows, with particular attention to circularity in solar energy.

CIRCUSOL shares research, practical resources and project findings to help businesses and other stakeholders develop circular solutions. Its website features demonstrators on second-life photovoltaic modules and batteries, design for circularity, circular business innovation toolkits, and an asset database. The project also provides publications, deliverables, webinars, courses, videos and other learning materials, and invites visitors to join its network. Through these activities, CIRCUSOL aims to establish solar power as a leading example of how service-based businesses can help advance the circular economy in Europe.
