CIRDAP, the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific, is an intergovernmental and autonomous organization that was established in 1979. Initiated by the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, CIRDAP aims to promote integrated rural development in the region. With support from various UN bodies and donors, it addresses the needs of developing countries and currently consists of 15 member countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Operating through designated contact ministries and link institutions in member countries, CIRDAP focuses on regional cooperation and supplements existing integrated rural development programs. It offers a range of resources and services, including research, pilot projects, knowledge management, and flagship training programs. CIRDAP also maintains a dedicated center for Geo-informatics Applications in Rural Development.
