Cirrus Cycles Inc, based in Bellingham, Washington, is a brand that has revolutionized the concept of bike comfort. It all started with Paul Barkley, a passionate cyclist, frame builder, and bike shop owner. During his first tour in the Peace Corp in Uganda, Paul experienced extremely rough roads while riding his bike between villages.
This inspired him to develop a way to smooth out the ride, making it more comfortable for cyclists. Returning to Bellingham, Paul began working on a prototype that could work with different bikes, and during his second tour in Uganda, the Kinekt Isolation seatpost was born. The idea proved to be a game-changer, effectively reducing vibrations caused by uneven terrain and surfaces.
Cirrus Cycles, Inc was founded in 2010 after years of development and testing, with their seatpost receiving a patent in 2014. Today, they are in their 12th year and have sold tens of thousands of their award-winning Kinekt Active suspension seatposts. In 2020, they expanded their product line by introducing the new Active suspension Stem.
