CISD

The Centro Internazionale Studi Diabete (CISD) is an Italian nonprofit organisation and Third Sector Entity dedicated to diabetes research and education. Founded in 1983, it began as the Italian-British Association for the Study and Prevention of Vascular Complications of Diabetes Mellitus. Its central mission is to advance scientific research into the causes of diabetes and the development of its complications, which can significantly affect health and life expectancy.

CISD supports this work by helping provide qualified researchers with resources, knowledge and practical opportunities to pursue their studies. The organisation also encourages public engagement with diabetes through scientific and cultural initiatives.
