The Centre for International Security and Economic Strategy (CISES) is an independent, non-partisan think tank based in London. It provides evidence-based analysis of global security, regional crises, geopolitical change, and the connections between economics, technology, and defence. Its work is designed to give policymakers, media, and industry leaders clear, actionable insight into emerging risks.
CISES organizes its research across four programmes. International Security and Conflict examines geopolitics, regional security, and diplomacy. The Economics and Trade Programme covers defence economics, trade, and supply chains. Emerging Technologies and Risk explores areas including artificial intelligence, cyber resilience, and climate risks. The Defence and Military Strategy Programme focuses on military strategy, force posture, and modern conflict.
The centre publishes research, rapid analysis, and expert commentary on current international issues, and provides media engagement and video and multimedia content. It also hosts events and offers ways for readers to follow its work, including a newsletter with topic preferences.
