La Cité royale de Loches is an immersive brand that takes visitors on a journey back in time to experience the historic siege of 1205 at the Loches fortress. Using cutting-edge technology and augmented reality, the brand offers a truly captivating visit. Since 2019, the Donjon de la Cité royale de Loches has provided an immersive experience through the use of HistoPad ©, a revolutionary touch-screen tablet that brings the Middle Ages to life with 360° 3D reconstructions.
This summer, the immersive visit is enhanced by a new and unprecedented experience: reliving the spectacular siege of 1205. Visitors will witness the clash between the troops of King John Lackland of the Plantagenet dynasty and those of King Philip II of France. This pivotal event in the history of Loches and Touraine, which led to their incorporation into the French crown, is showcased in its final phase during the spring of 1205.
Offering a unique perspective, visitors can now experience the siege from the point of view of the attackers, exploring the entire siege with a focus on its successive phases, the French king's camp, his role, and the key actors involved. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind experience at La Cité royale de Loches! Admission includes the HistoPad © experience
