Cities4Forests

Cities4Forests is a pioneering global alliance dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of forests and natural ecosystems to enhance human well-being. Comprised of forward-thinking member cities, this initiative catalyzes significant policy changes that promote forest-friendly practices, mobilizes financing for nature-based projects, and advocates for tropical forest conservation on an international scale.

Recognizing the intricate connection between urban development and forest preservation, Cities4Forests addresses challenges faced by cities, such as climate change, air pollution, and biodiversity loss. The organization works across three essential forest scales: inner forests within city boundaries, nearby forests that contribute to watershed health, and faraway forests vital for global carbon management.

Through comprehensive support, including technical assistance, political engagement, and financial strategies, Cities4Forests empowers cities to not only tackle their environmental challenges but also to foster a symbiotic relationship with nature. Their commitment extends to promoting gender and social equity, ensuring that all community members benefit from these green initiatives.
