Citizendium is a unique online wiki platform that aims to provide free and accessible knowledge, fostering a community where contributors engage using their real names. Differentiating itself from other encyclopedic sources like Wikipedia, Citizendium emphasizes transparency and accountability in content creation. The platform encourages knowledge-sharing across a wide array of topics and takes pride in its supportive, collegial environment.

Contributors are invited to develop articles that uphold high standards of objectivity, civility, and quality, ensuring that the information remains trustworthy. Unlike Wikipedia, Citizendium maintains a smaller number of active authors, allowing for stronger connections among contributors which enhances collaborative efforts. Articles can serve as staging points for wider dissemination, with the understanding that they remain on Citizendium and proper attribution is required if republished elsewhere.

With a simple application process to join, Citizendium welcomes individuals to collaborate in this endeavor of building a credible knowledge resource that values public contribution.
