Citizens for Coastal Conservancy

Citizens for Coastal Conservancy (C4CC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Imperial Beach, California, working to protect Southern California’s coastal environments and natural resources through education, research, and advocacy. It serves Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, and other South Bay San Diego communities, with a focus on cross-border sewage pollution affecting the Tijuana River, local beaches, public health, and habitats.

C4CC promotes a science-based plan to reduce sewage flows by operating the PBCILA pumps in Mexico around the clock. The organization says this approach could cut transboundary pollution by 78% without building new infrastructure. Its work includes sharing water-quality data and beach-status updates, explaining policy issues, and urging elected officials to act. Residents can participate by signing petitions, contacting representatives, volunteering, attending community events, or joining the organization. C4CC also provides educational videos, investigations, articles, and other resources about the sewage crisis and proposed solutions. Donations and branded merchandise support its advocacy and coastal protection efforts, while email updates keep supporters informed about campaigns, research, and community news.
