Cityhop Car Share is New Zealand's premier car sharing service, paving the road to a better tomorrow. With on-demand access to cars by the hour or day, we currently operate in Auckland and Wellington, and we have plans to expand our services to more cities in the near future. Our story began in 2007 when former Auckland City Councillor Victoria Carter co-founded Cityhop with a vision to provide the community with safe, affordable, and environmentally friendly transportation options.

For over a decade, we have remained committed to creating liveable cities and empowering our enthusiastic car sharing members to live with one less car. By joining Cityhop, members make a significant impact on their community and the environment. After becoming a member, our research shows that people use active transport 36% more and public transport 40% more frequently.

In fact, 49% of our members have either sold a car, lived without a car, or delayed purchasing one. Not only that, but every Cityhop member reduces their carbon emissions by an average of 394kg CO2-e, with the potential to replace up to 15 privately owned vehicles. Our members become multimodal travelers, choosing the most efficient form of transportation for each journey.
