About CITYNET
CityNet is the largest association of urban stakeholders committed to sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. Since its establishment in 1987 with the support of UNESCAP, UNDP, and UN-Habitat, the network has expanded to include 154 municipalities, NGOs, private companies, and research centers. CityNet connects actors, fosters knowledge exchange, and promotes commitment to build more sustainable and resilient cities.
They achieve this through capacity building, city-to-city cooperation, and tangible projects that address climate change, disasters, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and infrastructure demands. As a result, CityNet supports its members in effectively responding to the evolving urban landscape. Their vision is to promote the exchange of knowledge, support livable and inclusive cities, forge a vast network of urban stakeholders, combat global climate change and disaster resilience, and advance urban issues on the global sustainability agenda.
Overall, CityNet is nurturing a vibrant network of urban actors that collectively create sustainable and resilient cities across the Asia Pacific region
