Cemetery Sweep is an organized service provided by the City of Moore, dedicated to maintaining the beauty and respectfulness of its cemeteries. This service includes scheduled clean-up weeks when all decorations, including flowers in vases, will be removed. The upcoming sweeps are set for the first full week of February and August 2024. Community members are encouraged to retrieve any personal decorations by the specified dates to ensure their items are not discarded.
The City of Moore emphasizes a respectful approach to cemetery upkeep by permitting only specific decorations, such as flowers in vases attached to monuments or flower arrangements in saddles. Additionally, flags are allowed during significant holidays like Memorial Day and Independence Day. For further inquiries or information, residents can reach the City Clerk’s office or visit the official city website. Cemetery Sweep plays a crucial role in preserving the sanctity and serenity of the burial grounds for families and visitors alike.
