About Civic Tech Innovation Network
CTIN (Civic Tech Innovation Network) is an African organization that aims to strengthen regional connection and participation in the civic tech space through their flagship Regional Ambassadors Programme (RAP). RAP was developed in response to the growing interest from the wider African civic tech community, representing a need for a community for people in this space. The RAP comprises four uniquely positioned organizations that represent different regions in Africa: Pollicy for East Africa, Magamba Network for Southern Africa, Chad Innovation for Central Africa, and Co-Creation Hub (ccHub) for West Africa.
CTIN recognizes the importance of building an active civic tech community and establishing strategic ties with innovators, organizations, researchers, practitioners, and other civic tech actors across the continent. The RAP program allows CTIN to extend its reach and engage with regions currently underrepresented in their network. The RAP ambassadors, with their local knowledge and networks, contribute to a wider network of African civic tech initiatives, fostering both physical and online connections.
These ambassadors not only represent CTIN but also champion their regional civic tech actors and landscape. By strategically selecting ambassadors to cover all regions of Africa, CTIN ensures the program's effectiveness in mobilizing participation from various civic tech actors. Overall, CTIN's Regional Ambassadors Programme is a testament to their commitment to building a strong and inclusive civic tech community across Africa
