Welcome to the Belize Department of Civil Aviation website. The Belize Department of Civil Aviation was established by the Civil Aviation Act, Chapter 239, Revised Edition 2000 of the Substantive Laws of Belize. The principal function of the Department is to regulate and administer a safe civil aviation system whilst ensuring that Belize discharges its obligations properly under international civil aviation agreements and treaties, in particular, the Convention on International Civil Aviation.

About Civil Aviation
The Belize Department of Civil Aviation, established by the Civil Aviation Act, Chapter 239, ensures a safe civil aviation system in compliance with international agreements. They regulate flight operations, overseeing private and commercial aviation activities. The Flight Operations Section manages certification, surveillance, and audits, ensuring compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization standards.
Trained inspectors conduct audits and inspections of aviation entities to guarantee safety and compliance. Ramp inspections at airports aim to prevent accidents and incidents proactively. Additionally, Flight Operations approves operations manuals, providing guidelines for safe practices.
