Civil Protection GR

The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection of Greece is the government body responsible for informing the public about civil protection and coordinating policies for managing risks and emergencies. Through its official website, the Ministry provides practical guidance to help people prepare for and respond to hazards, including earthquakes, floods, wildfires, storms, heatwaves, landslides and other natural or technological disasters. Visitors can access emergency plans, thematic maps, daily wildfire-risk information, weather-related announcements and updates on national preparedness activities.

The website also publishes press releases, public notices, procurement information and material on climate crisis management, volunteering and international cooperation. For people affected by disasters, the Ministry shares information about state assistance, including support for damaged buildings and businesses, temporary housing and first-aid assistance. A digital state-aid assistant provides informational answers to users’ questions, while clearly noting that it does not issue official or binding guidance. The site also connects visitors with relevant Greek services, including the Fire Service, National Meteorological Service, police and emergency medical services, and provides civil protection guidance in multiple languages.
