Civil UAVs Initiative is a pioneering strategic initiative led by the Xunta de Galicia (the government of Galicia) in Europe. Its main objective is to attract investments in the aerospace sector and develop innovative solutions in the field of unmanned systems and vehicles. This initiative aims to create innovative products and solutions to enhance the provision of public services, making them more modern and efficient.

Through the initiative, Galicia has been able to attract major multinational companies in the aerospace sector and has succeeded in generating and consolidating industrial fabric around the Galicia Aerospace Hub. By fostering entrepreneurship and talent, the Civil UAVs Initiative supports the growth of companies and promotes innovative entrepreneurship in the aerospace sector. The Business Factory Aero (BFAero), a part of this program, is focused on promoting the creation and acceleration of innovative companies in Galicia that can contribute to the aerospace value chain.

Moreover, in Galicia, there are educational programs intended to develop an innovative ecosystem capable of generating, attracting, and retaining talent in the long term, such as the Master's Degree in Unmanned Aerial Systems Operations and Engineering, offered by the Universities of Vigo and Santiago de Compostela, and the Aerospace Engineering Degree at the University of Vigo's School of Aeronautical Engineering and Space. With an investment of €164 million and the participation of over 50 agents, including universities, knowledge centers, and companies, the initiative has led to the development of more than 35 R&D projects, involving over 400 highly qualified individuals. By attracting investment in the aerospace sector, promoting the innovation of public services, and stimulating local business growth, the Civil UAVs Initiative is playing a key role in the dynamic and diversified development of Galicia's industrial ecosystem
