About Geneva Botanic Garden
The Jardin Botanique de Genève is a botanical institution in Geneva dedicated to understanding, preserving and sharing the diversity of plant and fungal life. With more than 200 years of heritage and scientific innovation, it connects botanical research and collections with public education and conservation. Its resources include a herbarium, scientific library, archives, seed bank, DNA and tissue bank, and living collections. The institution conducts research through its projects and laboratories, publishes scientific work, and supports the training of future botanists.
Visitors can explore a biodiversity reserve featuring more than 11,000 species from around the world and experience a range of ecosystems. The garden offers visitor information, exhibitions, guided and educational pathways, and a varied programme of activities, workshops and tours. Its science outreach space and school programmes help people of different ages discover and understand the natural world. Through research, species conservation, education and public engagement, the Jardin Botanique de Genève works to protect living diversity and make botanical science relevant to society.
