About CJC
CJC | CCM is the Canadian Judicial Council, established by the Canadian Parliament in 1971, with the goal of maintaining and improving the quality of judicial services in Canada's superior courts. As a response to the ever-changing world, CJC provides a modern and progressive judicial system that aligns with the values of Canadian society. With a mission to ensure that judges reflect the values and way of life of Canadians, CJC develops tools and initiatives to preserve and protect public confidence in the judicial system.
CJC comprises 44 members, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Right Honourable Richard Wagner, who chairs the Council. Together, they collaborate to enhance the Canadian justice system. Their work focuses on providing effective, consistent, and fair judicial services, delivered by over 1100 federally appointed judges.
