About Citizens for Justice and Peace
Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) is a Human Rights movement dedicated to upholding and defending the freedom and constitutional rights of all Indians. With a focus on their Four Pillars, CJP aims to promote Minority Rights, Freedom of Expression, Criminal Justice Reform, and Child Rights & Education. Their campaigns empower the disempowered, ensuring that all Indians can live in peace and with dignity.
One of their key interventions is the Hate Hatao campaign, which identifies instances of hate speech and reports them to relevant authorities. They also provide legal aid and support to Indian citizens in Assam, helping them defend their citizenship and navigate the complex National Register of Citizens process. CJP's Forest Rights initiative focuses on empowering Adivasis, forest-dwellers, and forest workers to defend their rights and fight against malicious prosecution.
They also have a Grassroots Fellowship Program that mentors youth leaders in marginalized communities. Through their initiatives, CJP works tirelessly to build a society based on diversity, peace, and harmony, while advocating for justice and equality for all
