The School of Geosciences is an academic institution focused on education, research, and collaboration across geology, energy resources, and geospatial sciences. It offers undergraduate programs in geology, resource exploration engineering, geographic information science, and earth information science and technology, alongside postgraduate education. Students can access degree programs, teaching resources, academic competitions, career guidance, and support for international exchange.

Research is a central part of the school’s work. Its specialist centers investigate topics including deep and unconventional oil and gas, carbonate reservoirs, engineering geology, sedimentary processes, coalbed methane, and intelligent reservoir analysis. The school also provides research and experimental platforms, scientific publications, and access to shared large-scale instruments. Faculty and students take part in academic seminars, industry visits, and collaborative activities with research institutes and companies. Additional resources include information about faculty expertise, research achievements, teaching teams, student activities, institutional policies, and administrative services. Through its combination of specialist education, applied research, and external engagement, the school supports the development of knowledge and skills in geoscience and related fields.
