CKG

CKG – Centro Karate-Do Goju-Ryu is a martial arts centre based in São Marcos, in the municipality of Sintra, Portugal. Founded in 2018 by João Becken and José Rui Albuquerque, it teaches Goju-Ryu karate and is affiliated with Nihon Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Portugal, also known as Shushikan. The centre promotes technical development, discipline and the traditional values of Budo, with instruction led by Sensei João Becken for karate and Sensei Leonardo Pereira for Kobudo.

CKG offers recreational, traditional and competition-focused karate classes, alongside Kobudo training. Its programme includes technical progression, kata study, grading examinations and participation in seminars and competitions. The centre reports achievements in national and international competition, and its first black belt, Márcio Silva, earned 1st Dan in 2022. Training takes place at the Sociedade Recreativa de São Marcos, with scheduled classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. CKG also shares club news and events, and provides membership information, internal documents, registration forms and merchandising.
