About Claire Mooney
Claire Mooney is a talented silversmith and artist based in Annalong, nestled at the foothills of the breathtaking Mourne Mountains. Her artistic practice is deeply influenced by the rural landscapes of her upbringing, reflecting a connection to texture, form, and material in her metalwork. Specializing in traditional silversmithing techniques, Claire’s work explores themes of heritage, landscape, and folklore, allowing each piece to tell its own story.
With a graduation from Ulster University in 2018, Claire further honed her skills with a Master's in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies in 2019. She is passionate about metal spinning, a craft listed as endangered on the Heritage Crafts Red List. Claire has showcased her creations at prominent exhibitions across Ireland and London, including Bangor’s Walled Gardens and the Craft NI Gallery. In addition to her crafted pieces, Claire offers bespoke commissions and workshops, engaging with both private clients and community groups.
