Claire Strickland is a London-based theatrical milliner with 20 years of experience helping costume teams bring designers’ visions to life. Trained in sculpture, design and fabrication for theatre and performance, she graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2007. She also completed a five-year apprenticeship in the millinery workroom of Royal Warrant holders James Lock & Co Hatters, developing expertise in traditional couture millinery and bespoke dyeing.
Claire creates hats and other millinery pieces for theatre, television, film and live experiences. Her work has appeared in productions including Bridgerton season three, Queen Charlotte, Anne Boleyn, Doctor Who and Bridget Jones’s Baby, as well as at Madame Tussauds, Shakespeare’s Globe, English National Opera, in London’s West End and with Secret Cinema. Her portfolio also features wig cages and other specialist creations.
A former visiting millinery practitioner at Wimbledon College of Art, Claire values continued learning and skill development. Based in London, she is happy to travel and can be contacted about her work through her website.
