The mission of the Community Land Trust of West Marin (CLAM) is to provide stable and permanently affordable homes in an environmentally responsible way in the communities surrounding Tomales Bay in Marin County, CA. As a community land trust, CLAM takes land and housing out of the speculative real estate market and holds it “in trust” to serve as a long-term community asset for housing people. In historically segregated Marin, with one of the most expensive housing markets in the country, CLAM works to advance racial and economic equity by enabling families to purchase and rent homes affordably, whereby preventing displacement and empowering families and individuals to advance economically and thrive within their communities. CLAM creates and stewards stable and permanently affordable homes in an environmentally responsible way in the communities surrounding Tomales Bay. Our work crosses issues of economic equity, racial justice, issues related to aging and seniors, affordable housing, and environmental sustainability. By creating stable and affordable places for people to live, we enable individuals and families to build wealth, contribute to their community, reduce carbon emissions (by decreasing commutes for local workers), and reduce stress and other negative health outcomes related to unstable or unsuitable housing.

About Community Land Trust Association of West Marin
This ensures long-term affordability and access to housing for low-income individuals and families. CLAM offers a range of products and services to support its mission. One of their projects is the Age-In-Place Home, designed to provide comfortable and safe living spaces for senior citizens.
They also have the Coast Guard Neighborhood project, which aims to create a real community where everyone feels a sense of belonging. In addition to housing projects, CLAM offers co-ownership and rental solutions. The co-ownership program allows individuals to own a share of a property while sharing the costs and responsibilities with others.
Rental solutions are available for those looking for affordable housing options. Supporting CLAM is a great way to make a positive impact in your community. They welcome donations, offer various membership options, and have a Business Sponsor Circle for businesses interested in supporting their cause.
There are also opportunities to leave a legacy through volunteering or signing up for their mailing list. Choose CLAM and be part of a movement that prioritizes people and community over profit
