Clan Davidson New Zealand is a Scottish clan society formed in 1998 to preserve and promote Davidson traditions and history in New Zealand. It welcomes people named Davidson and those with associated surnames, including Davison, Dawson, Davis, Deans, Dow, MacDade and MacDavid, as well as anyone who can trace descent from an ancestor bearing one of these names. The clan notes that its Chief, Grant Davidson, lives in Auckland and is a New Zealander.
The society fosters a spirit of clanship through annual gatherings held in different parts of the country alongside its AGM. Members and supporters can meet at these events and at Highland and Scottish gatherings around New Zealand. The clan also publishes a newsletter and provides genealogical assistance to members, with resources for exploring family connections and early New Zealand immigrants. Its calendar includes Davidson Day on 24 May, commemorating the death of King David I of Scotland, and events supported around the country.
