The Clan Donald Educational and Charitable Trust is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based charitable organization dedicated to promoting the longstanding relationship between the United States and Great Britain. Its work includes an annual scholarship for U. S.
citizens seeking to study in Great Britain, with a particular interest in students pursuing humanities courses related to Scottish culture or history. Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter explaining their proposed study and its relevance to relations between the United States and Scotland, academic transcripts, and two references. The Trust also sponsors the Ligonier Highland Games, a yearly event held at Idlewild Park near Ligonier, Pennsylvania.
The Games bring together highland and country dancing, Celtic music, Highland athletic events, and performances by pipes and drums. The Trust’s website lists the 67th annual Games for July 18, 2026, and invites visitors to consult the Games’ own website for further information. Through educational support and cultural events, the organization connects people and communities across the United States and Scotland
